THIS TRIP IS FULL.  WAITLIST AVAILABLE.  Join us for some crepuscular adventuring, and witness the whistling Woodcocks! We’ll meet in the gravel lot just off of Zion Road in Laytonsville at 4 p.m., giving us time to casually explore before sundown (around 6) and eventual loss of light (about 6:30). Pre-dusk we will be watching for late winter stragglers as well as early spring migrants. There could be ducks on the pond, raptors hunting the fields, and a wide variety of seasonal songbirds. The grand finale will be listening for the first “Peents” of the evening followed directly by the whistle and whirl of the sky-dancing American Woodcocks. The first week of March has historically been reliable for Timberdoodling at Blue Mash. Limit: 12. LEADER: Angela Atwood-Moore at getmoorphit@yahoo.com. Stacy Rabinovitz will co-lead.
