A brief presentation followed by a viewing of the North Bethesda winter crow roost with Jim Wilson, long-time North Bethesda roost observer, on January 11, 4:30 PM.
Thousands of crows stream into the North Bethesda area each winter afternoon, gather in large numbers for a noisy crow happy hour, sleep overnight shoulder-to-shoulder on trees and buildings, and then stream out before sunrise to forage many miles away. It’s the North Bethesda winter crow roost! Join us for a short presentation about this amazing crow social behavior followed by a viewing of the evening crow show — at its peak, the sky will be filled with the birds.
Please dress warmly, as the event will be in in open concrete slab garage!
Meet on Jan. 11, 4:30pm, at the North Bethesda Metro parking garage, 10000 Citadel Ave. North Bethesda. Drive or take the elevator to the 6th floor of the parking garage and meet at the southeast corner. There will be a 15-minute talk followed by the crow show at approx. 4:55 pm. In case of inclement weather, we will post a rain date on the club website. For further information, contact Emily Huang at montgomerybirdclub@mdbirds.
