SUMMARY:Youth Montgomery Bird Club Walk:  Burnt Mills West Special Park
DESCRIPTION:Burnt Mills West Special Park (10701 Columbia Pike\, Silver Spring\, MD 20901)\n7:30 to ~10am  Explore the Rachel Carson trail between Colesville Rd. and Loxford Terrace (westward from Colesville). It will be nice and shady and the wide path winds along the Northwest Branch of the Anacostia River so there is also the cooling effect of water as well as the possibility for some water-birds. It’s a wide\, level\, forgiving and mostly flat natural surface trail/path. It’s got mostly long site-lines\, and there’s even a cool frog pond along that section. Mentors: Angela Atwood-Moore and Andy Martin. Reservations are required via https://tinyurl.com/YMBCSummer25. Please note that guardians are responsible for their youth during the entirety of the trip and must stay with them during this time.
